Hi Folks, 24 June 2020

The Tags Site has been saved by John Hansen. Here's the new link:

tags-ship.com

Don't forget the other stuff that precedes the above link. Sorry, this was the only way I could get a link in this message.

Received an email from Phil Brooks informing me of the new site. Thanks Phil and thank you John for stepping up to the plate and rescuing the site.

Everything is there that was on the original site.

Best Always,

Christine Headley

Hello Shipmates, 10 June 2020

Long story short, the Tags site is gone because Host monster, the hosting service Earl chose to host the site, refused to renew the site in 2019 when it came up for renewal. I had been funding the renewal since Earl Adams, the site's founder, passed away in 2014. The first renewal was 2015. When I renewed it. In 2018 HM informed me that this was the last time they would accept a renewal. I suspect they no longer wanted to support the software Earl used to create the site. It was Front Page from Microsoft. It is obsolete technology as most sites now use newer software that requires new browsers. The Web has changed.

The problem was I owned the Domain name, Earl's estate owned the HM Account. I paid the court appointed attorney handling Earl's estate a tidy chunk of change to handle getting Earl's account transferred to me. HM and most web hosting services only allow one named owner-administrator unless you are willing to pay a large extra fee.

The attorney was supposed to try to get Earl's brother to sign the HM account over to me. That was accomplished except for one glaring item. Who ever the lawyer had type the document made a fatal typo. They typed tags-12.info. When I found the error and contacted the lawyer, he refused to intervene and correct the error someone in his office made. One major problem dealing with this Attorney is that he does not do anything by Email-Internet. Telephone only. We were stuck and HM would not accept the erroneous document.

Phil Brooks, who so graciously created this Guest Log has a copy of the tags-21.info site as I do. The sorry company Go Daddy was holding the tags-21.info Domain. When It expired they put it up For Sale to the highest bidder. Kind of sleazy in my book.

I have another hosting service that hosts the site my girlfriend and I have, which in no way is related to the US Navy other than I am a US Navy Veteran. Phil also has a Hosting service that hosts his other Web sites. At this juncture I do not know his exact plans. He was going to request the tags-21.info domain when it expired. Unfortunately Go Daddy had other ideas.

Here's a tidbit of info if you ever decide to have your own site: Find a reputable hosting service that will get you the Domain name you want without jacking you around. Some hosting services will ask you what domain name you want, will do the search and then tell you it's not available but is for sale. Be very careful using Internet search firms that promise to find your desired Domain name. You can use legit services that won't try to rip you off. One last item, No one can Copyright a Domain Name.

Now I'll get to something I said I'd "splain later." Well it's later and what I was referring to was the name "Christine" that I signed off with. The reason I used Christine is because that is my new name as I am transgender Male to Female.

I am open and proud of the change I have made to my life; it is a long story and very personal. I have posted it on the Internet so if there's anyone out there that might want to Blackmail me, forget it. I ain't got enough dough to make it worth while for anyone as everyone that knows me already knows about my transition. I'll leave it at that so you can judge for yourself.

Best Always,

Christine

I want to wish each and every one of you, your families and friends a Very Blessed Christmas and New Year !!!

We have a duplicate site: tags-21.org which isn't subject to these occasional yearly interruptions. We also have tags-21.net, tags-21.com which point to tags-21.org.

Best Always,

Christine (will splain later)
